Gumi
The City of Gumi, located on the the Nakdong River, is the second largest city in the Gyeongsangbuk-do Province of South Korea. Situated near the Geyongbu Expressway and the Geyongbu railway line, the principal transportation channels in South Korea, Gumi serves as a major transport and trading hub.
Gumi is an industrial centre for the production of electronic goods, textiles, rubber, plastic and metal products.
In December 2009, the local government launched the Gumi Eco City Project with the main objective of Gumi becoming one of South Korea’s greenest cities. The city ultimately aims to become South Korea’s first carbon neutral city.
